A smattering

I love that word, smattering. Autumnal is also a favorite word, and so applicable this time of year.

The other day I was thinking about how I'm kind of close to being 30 years old and how that sounded kind of old, and how the heck did I get to be almost 30? I told my eldest sis, 35, about this thought, and she said that 30 looks young to her. It's all about perspective, I guess.

Kj turns 4 on Sunday. Has she really been around that long? Was there ever a time when she wasn't in my life?

M is a serious runner already. We went to a cross country meet on Saturday, and she was mimicking the college runners during their warm-ups. With a serious and determined look on her face, she ran about 1/4 mile around the trails, insisting that I yell, "Go M! You are so fast" while doing so.

I want to get away for a couple of days, and might actually pull it off soon. Just me, books, food, hiking, a movie or two, and popcorn. No cleaning, no kids, no husband, no demands, just me. Doesn't that sound blissful?

Have you read "Hunger Games?" Here's a conservative Mormon perspective on the series if you want to check it out. I'm interested in hearing your comments:

I love sunny, autumn days.

Hey, can I come on your getaway? Sounds like bliss. I haven't read hunger games but my sister liked it. I can't believe these girls are so old. Are you doing something special for Kj's birthday? How soon do you turn 30- November? I'm turning 29 this week.

Ah--just you... that WOULD be blissful! I hope it works out. Lucky! Kids are great--Jace is really getting the talking thing down--I love this age 18 months through 3 years old! I wonder how he and M would do playing together. So cute (hard too, but cute wins most days)! Kalee read the Hunger games. She really liked it, found it interesting and she could relate. It didn't sound like something I would like because I am all about EVERYONE being happy and LIVING happily ever after. But, it also sounded like it brings up some deep thinking material. Thanks for all your comments. Hope you are having a good day!
