I'm possessed!

It all started when I got knocked up. I'm experiencing my first cravings in a pregnancy that I can remember, and the food I want is not healthy.

Disclaimer: I consider myself a pretty healthy eater, so if you regularly eat the food I list below, I don't mean to offend you. These cravings are just out of my norm.

If any of you have been to a Brazilian Grill restaurant, you probably enjoyed your experience there. An all-you-can-eat buffet, skewers of freshly grilled meat being brought right to your table, not to mention the pineapple and grilled veggies. I once told my Argentine friend that the grilled veggies were my favorite thing at Tucano's, and he said that I wasn't worthy to eat there if that was my favorite dish. Anyway, when hubby and I were living in Provo, we signed up to get the free birthday meal during your birthday month postcard, and have continued to receive said postcard since moving away 3 1/2 years ago. February is J's birthday month, and he got the free meal postcard two days ago. I have been craving Tucano's, or really good all-you-can-eat meat, ever since. I hardly eat meat. Sometimes J gets some and I take a nibble and I'm done. I feel like I could gorge myself on pork and beef right now.

And I bought Fruit Loops (the cheap kind) at the grocery store today. I NEVER buy sugar candy. We usually have steel cut oats or whole wheat pancakes for breakfast, not sugar cereals. If we could afford take-out once a day, I'd get that too. I'm telling you, pregnancy is bizarre. I can't wait for spring/summer time when there are fresh fruits and veggies a plenty at the local farms. Hopefully I can get my eating habits back in shape before the baby comes. I don't want to program my baby to want to eat fat and sugar all the time! And I don't want to gain unnecessary weight and have trouble losing it. I was thoroughly enjoying my healthy self before this pregnancy.

Now I'll go have some chocolate. I mean carrot sticks!

It's ok, just ride with it. Why fight it? I craved fast food all the time when I was pregnant. Any other time, I think it's gross. Pregnancy is weird.

You are not alone bread buddy. I'm a pretty healthy eater, but this time around I have wanted nothing but non healthy things to eat. Why?! I can't understand this. I've been trying to juice to get some good stuff down me, but let me just say, chicken strips have been one of my many cravings I have wanted. Can't do red meat though, which is funny because with both girls I wanted, no, had to have, red meat! Maybe this time is different??
