Talk about orange!

This new layout may be a bit much, but I was exceedingly bored of the pale yellow. I hope you can still see after viewing my blog.

Kj update: Her current favorite band is the Steve Miller Band. She also enjoys John Denver and Don McLean. Good taste, I think.

So I feel like I've been hiding the truth from you. I recently applied for a social work per diem position at a local hospital, and finally got an interview!!! It was so exciting to actually be considered seriously for a position, though it will be that much more disappointing if I don't get it. I'm going to shadow a social worker tomorrow, and they'll let me know their decision by the end of the week. I wasn't going to blog about it until I'd heard back about the position, but like I said, I feel like I was concealing something. It's silly, I know.

Also related to jobs is that Jonas heard back from a Spokane firm he interviewed with, and was rejected for an internship. Sigh. We were really excited about that prospect, though not optimistic. Jonas did a great job in the interview, and has a fairly good work history with outstanding references, but his grades are not stellar. That will be a hindrance. He was disappointed when he heard back, of course, but we're reconciling ourselves to it and hoping that I'll get this position.

I would work an average of two days per week, but work more during vacation/holiday times like Christmas and the summer. It's a float position, meaning I get to learn all the areas of the hospital and the work that the social worker does there. One of my internships during my grad program was at a hospital, and I really enjoyed it. It sounds like a very demanding position, with lots of work to do. Wish me luck tomorrow! I am very eager to hear back if I get it or not.

Wow. That is a lot of orange! Do you know how to change some of the colors in your layout? You could tone it down, I mean, if you wanted to. : ) Sorry to hear about the internship for Jonas. I hope another opportunity arises. That firm sounded very competitive! Good luck being a shadow tomorrow. I hope your stomach doesn't get in the way.
