Halloween and leaves

It all started with Kj.  We were at Wal-mart looking for a Cinderella costume when she stated that she wanted to be Tinkerbell.  I've concluded that Disney is a very powerful marketing force.  Kj had not yet seen Peter Pan, and she's only seen Cinderella once, but those princesses are so pervasive!  Anyway, we got the Tinkerbell costume, and a family theme was born.  My senior prom dress sort of resembled Wendy's nightdress, and I knew I could sew a very simple Peter Pan costume for M.  J was Captain Hook, and we were set!  In the end, Kj didn't want to be Tinkerbell (no surprise for me there), but she opted to be a dog.  I liked to say she was one of the Lost Boys, but she could also have been Nana, the nurse-dog.  Take your pick.  Either way, the girls had a great time at the ward party, especially the Trunk-or-Treating part.  I learned a lesson this year: have your costumes done more than 2 hours before the party so you can take pics of your kids.  We only got two decent family pics, but individuals of the girls would have been more fun.

Yesterday was a very warm day here, almost 70 degrees!  It was also dry, but still cloudy, of course.  The Veggie Bunch came over to jump in leaves, and we had a grand old time.

Hmm... I don't think my prom dress would fit me today...

I miss leaves! There are so few trees here that change and fall... Thanks for sharing the color.

I love the leaf pictures! I love family-themed costumes too. Good job, Nana!
