I love my age

No, not the age I am, although 28 is treating me pretty well. I do have crow's feet around my eyes, and lines on my forehead already. Sigh. But I digress.

I am sooo grateful for this modern time that I live in. Poor Kj threw up six or seven times since 1 am last night. We didn't get much sleep after that time. Despite her practically exhausting our supply of sheets, towels and blankets, I can clean it all with ease. I have a washer/dryer in my garage. I throw the icky bedding in the washing machine, pour in some soap, turn it on, and let it do its thing. Then I take out the wet, clean bedding and put it in an amazing machine that dries it. How cool is that?!? I can't imagine dealing with sickness before modern convenience. No, I did, and it seemed exhausting. Heating the water, pouring it into a huge wooden barrel-type thing, stirring with a spoon, hang drying by a fire I had to maintain, etc., all while still taking care of the sick child and the healthy one. We are truly blessed.

And Kj is on the mend. Her fever broke and she hasn't thrown up since about 8 this morning. Thanks goodness! I just hope that M doesn't catch it.

Way to look on the bright side of things. Having a sick kid is the worst. I do love living in modern times too. I always wondered what life would be like without a dishwasher, and no take out food. Meals made by yours truly 3 times a day everyday of the week, and no cereal.

That's funny, because I think of how great it is to have a w/d every time someone throws up too! And I discovered lines on my forehead yesterday. Ugh.
