And the gender is. . .

Mmmm mmm. 72% dark chocolate from a good friend is a delicious treat.

So is finding out the gender of your baby. It's a boy!!!! J was grinning from ear to ear during the ultrasound after he found out that he finally fathered a son. We didn't find out the gender with either of the girls, so knowing what we're having beforehand is a new experience too, and I'm really enjoying it. It's fun to anticipate what projects I get to do to prepare for a boy (new curtains, decorations, bath towel, etc.). I won't feel silly having a blue crib anymore. (Why I purchased a blue crib after Kj was born, I do not know. I think my anti-Princess sensibilities were getting carried away.) And maybe the train table and the billion - okay, dozen - trains we purchased will get some use again in a couple of years.

I admit, I was a little apprehensive after hearing we're having a boy. I only "know" girls, and from what I'm told, boys are a whole different ball game. At this point, I'd rather deal with lots of energy than drama, which is abundant in our little home. But J was an extremely dramatic child, as was brother, and one of my nephews. I'm not confident I can escape the drama, but that's all right. We'll love the little tike no matter what he dishes out.

On our way home from the ultrasound, J and I were attempting to speculate how a boy might be different from a girl. I brought up potty training, and mentioned how a friend of mine put Cheerios in the toilet for some teaching and motivation. J's eyes lit up and he exclaimed, "Yeah! Target shooting!" I'm so glad that J will have another man to hang out with. He loves his girls dearly, and he is VERY excited to have a boy.

I scanned in the ultrasound pics, but can't post them yet. I'll have to have J help me figure it out. Also, I'm 20 weeks now, so I need to take another pic of my belly. Maybe I'll do my hair tomorrow and J can take one. Maybe. :) Pictures coming soon!

Yeah for little boys! We sure love ours! You are going to appreciate having a little boy. Generally they seem much for mellow and laid back.

Congrats. We are excited for you!
